Management of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has reaffirmed the University’s strategic vision of moving from excellence to eminence as the 2025/2026 academic year officially begins.
The reaffirmation was made during a management prayer meeting held on campus, bringing together principal officers of the University to commit the new academic year into the hands of God and to seek divine guidance for the journey ahead.
Addressing the gathering, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Mrs. Rita Akosua Dickson, described the transition from excellence to eminence as a bold but achievable aspiration, noting that KNUST’s long-standing record of excellence provides a strong foundation for the next phase of growth and impact.
“Let us move with confidence, and with courage, that once the good Lord is with us, we shall always move forward. We aim at moving from excellence to eminence.” she stated
She emphasised that although the transition would be demanding, it was attainable through faith, unity, and renewed strength, stressing the need for spiritual grounding in the University’s leadership journey.
Professor Mrs. Dickson further expressed confidence in the capacity of KNUST’s management and staff to sustain the University’s upward trajectory.
“I have no doubt that you are capable, and because of that, KNUST will continue to move from excellence to eminence. May the good Lord continue to guide and guard us,” she said
The prayer session was led by Rev. Elvis Twum-Barimah and the Protestant Chaplain, Rev. (Dr.) Joseph Williams Acheampong, who urged the University’s leadership to place their trust in God as they navigate the responsibilities and expectations of the new academic year.
“Let us rely on divine wisdom, strength, and direction in all decision-making, with the assurance that God’s abiding presence will continue to guide the affairs of the University,” he noted.
